On 1 of October of 2003, the Ministry of Railways was transformed into the open joint stock company "Russian Railways".

In a short historical period, a difficult path of reforming the railway industry has been completed, an effective high-tech company has been created, ready for any challenges in today's difficult situation, solving large-scale state tasks in the name of the national interests of our Motherland and the wealth of millions of citizens. In most respects, this is the result of high professionalism and responsibility, dedication to their work, corporate spirit, cohesion and conscientious work of the entire multi-thousand team of the company!
