On May 23, 2024, the International Scientific and Practical Conference INNOLOG 2024: "Prospects for the Formation of the Northern Transport Corridor" was held at the site of the Ural State University of Railway Transport (UrGUPS)
The goal of the conference was to discuss the development of the logistics complex in the Sverdlovsk region, the acceleration of the transport corridor from Yekaterinburg to the Arctic ports of Yamal, strategic infrastructure projects, and more
At the conference, S.V. Rumyantsev, Deputy Director General of IEDT, presented a report on the topic "Formation of the Northern Transport Corridor".
The report examined the prospective railway route from the ports of Yamal to Urumqi, China, spanning approximately 4,100 km. Sergey Valeryevich also presented an option for creating a direct railway connection from the Urals to developing fields of Yamal and eastern slope of the Urals, specifically the project for constructing a new Polunochnoye – Obskaya railway line.
