On May 28, 2025, a masterclass was held at the Russian Railways Corporate University, featuring Alexey Anatolyevich Zamkovoy, Deputy General Director of JSC “Institute for Transport Economics and Development” (JSC “IEDT”). The session was titled “Transport Connectivity of BRICS Countries: Building the Networks and Corridors of the Future.”

In his presentation, Mr. Zamkovoy delivered a comprehensive overview of the railway systems across BRICS member states. The report included an in-depth analysis of international trade among BRICS countries, focusing on trade volumes, geographic distribution, and the commodity structure of Russia’s economic ties with its BRICS partners.

Key components of the presentation included:

Russia’s foreign trade turnover with BRICS countries; The composition of exports and imports; Principal categories of traded goods; Major railway projects currently underway in BRICS nations.

Special attention was devoted to the development of current and prospective transport corridors — the so-called “BRICS Routes” — and to the work of the BRICS Business Council's Working Group on Transport, Logistics, and Infrastructure.

The masterclass was part of the “BRICS Transport Academy” project and brought together employees from the Central Office of Russian Railways, affiliated companies within the RZD Holding, as well as representatives of international partner organizations.
