On October 22, 2024, the Academic Board of IEDT JSC held a meeting focused on advancing methods for assessing the capacity and throughput of railway network segments.
The event featured scientific reports on the following topics:
Methods for Increasing the Capacity and Throughput of Railway Sections with Technical Automation Tools. Sergey Valentinovich Bushuev, Ph.D. and Prorector for Research at Ural State University of Railway Transport, presented his dissertation research on this topic;
Score-based Assessment of Railway Infrastructure Elements and Its Applications. Deputy General Director of NIIAS JSC, Inna Romanovna Gurgenidze, delivered a report on this subject;
Methods for Assessing Capacity Utilization Levels of Railway Infrastructure with Shifting Transport Flows. Svetlana Yurievna Kirillova, Head of Capacity Utilization at IEDT, presented a report on this topic.
The meeting facilitated constructive discussions and an exchange of ideas, including input from operational and construction divisions of the Russian Railways Holding. The discussions focused on proposed methodological approaches, digital tools, and technological solutions aimed at alleviating constraints on specific sections of the network and within railway infrastructure facilities.
