On October 27, 2023 the Joint Academic Board of RZD JSCo held a meeting to discuss the issues pertaining to formation of scientifically based proposals for multimodal passenger transportation in the context of changing directions and intensity of passenger flows.

I.F. Mustafin, Head of the Sector for Suburban Passenger Transportation Development of IEDT JSC, presented a report on the topic "Principles of organization and prospects for the development of railway intracity passenger transportation in the largest agglomerations on the network of Russian Railways JSC".

Ildar Favilovich highlighted in his report socio-economic factors of the need to organize intracity traffic, technical and technological factors of organizing suburban transportation and introduced colleagues to the algorithm for forecasting passenger traffic and the size of passenger train traffic.
