On June 10, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Board of JSC “Institute for Transport Economics and Development” (IEDT) was held to review research by young scientists aimed at addressing current industry challenges.
During the event, postgraduate researchers from IEDT presented scientific reports focused on developing methods for assessing international traffic in future and improving railway operations:
Transformation of logistics chains and development of the Russian transport system in traffic with China: regional aspects and integration into the transport system of Northeast Asia (case study of the Far Eastern Federal District) (speaker: I.A. Mikhalev, Engineer, Category II, Center for Macroeconomics and International Projects);
Regulatory capacities of railway station track development and their application to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the transportation process (speaker: D.Yu. Ershov, Engineer, Department of Technological Support for Automated Systems and Simulation Modeling);
Methods for adaptive regulation of railcar flows under bottlenecks and operational constraints on the railway network (speaker: V.V. Prozorov, Engineer, Category I, Department of Technological Support for Automated Systems and Simulation Modeling);
Methods for automated analysis of railcar flows in decision support systems for developing and adjusting freight train formation plans (speaker: S.D. Mayorov, Engineer, Department of Technological Support for Automated Systems and Simulation Modeling).
Based on the review of the reports, industry scientists and practitioners from Russian Railways provided recommendations for the further development of the presented research.
