On May 22, 2025, in St. Petersburg, during the 8th International Conference “LPG Market: New Realities”, Alexey Anatolyevich Zamkovoy, Deputy General Director of JSC IEDT, delivered a presentation on the development of railway transportation of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG). In his speech, he highlighted key trends in the global LPG market, outlined Russia's current position in international logistics, and presented a forecast for LPG rail transportation within the country through the end of the year.
The presentation covered a wide range of topics — from the decline in exports to the West amid sanctions and the transformation of logistics routes, to the projected growth in transportation toward the East and South, as well as increasing domestic demand for LPG. Special attention was given to infrastructure challenges, including the need for new terminals and rolling stock, and development plans through 2030.
