The III Gathering of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Russian Railways Scientific and Industry Complex was held from August 11 to 14. The event was attended by 50 young specialists and scientists from industry organizations.

The program of the first day included a tour of the Experimental Ring of JSC “VNIIZhT” in Shcherbinka.

The second day of the Gathering, August 12, which was also International Youth Day, was held at JSC “IEDT” and organized by the Institute’s Youth Council. Deputy General Director Alexey Zamkovoy addressed the participants with welcoming remarks. The program included a team-building training conducted by engineer Daniil Shumovsky and a team quiz led by lead engineer Anastasia Medvedeva. The Gathering participants also presented their projects as part of the “New Link of Russian Railways” competition.

The third day was again held at JSC “VNIIZhT” and included presentations by representatives of Russian Railways: Vladimir Evgenievich Andreev, Head of the Technical Policy Department, and Ekaterina Mikhailovna Izmalkova, Head of the Process Approach Development Division of the Department of Technological Coordination and Process Modeling Methodology, as well as a business game and scientific presentations by participants in a popular science format. IEDT representatives Sergey Kostin and Stepan Mayorov participated in this format.

The final day of the Gathering was held in Kolomna at the facilities of JSC “VNIKTI”. The participants visited the company’s testing facilities and also took part in a scientific conference dedicated to the development of high-speed railways, where expert Igor Tikhonov delivered a presentation.

Following the four-day event, the participants presented the results of their joint work — scientific articles, strategic goals and videos prepared as part of the Gathering program.
