During the International Transport and Logistics Forum, the CEO of JSC “Institute for Transport Economics and Development” (IEDT), Sergey V. Rumyantsev, delivered a presentation within the session “Modern Approaches to Modeling Integrated Transport Systems.”
His report, titled “Transport and Economic Balance of Russia: A Driver of Sustainable Infrastructure Development,” focused on key developments related to the transport and economic balance as well as the Digital General Scheme for the development of the Russian Railways network.
Rumyantsev highlighted that the Digital General Scheme enables:
automatic calculation of optimal routing for freight flows;
formation of network-wide cargo flows based on computed data;
simulation of future train traffic capacity, taking into account technical and operational parameters of railway infrastructure.
He emphasized that, with further development, the Digital General Scheme can serve as a foundation for forming a comprehensive transport and economic balance of the Russian Federation and for modeling the optimal evolution of the national transport system.
