On November 5-6, 2024, the 81st meeting of the CIS Council on Railway Transport took place in Tashkent. The delegation of Russian Railways (RZD) included Alexey Anatolyevich Zamkovoy, Deputy General Director of the Institute for Transport Economics and Development (IEDT) and Head of the Working Group on International Transport Corridors at the Council on Railway Transport of the CIS member states.

The meeting discussed the results of railway operations, the development of international passenger services, freight transportation planning for 2024/2025, and tariff policies for the upcoming year. Special attention was given to the restoration of international passenger services, including the recent resumption of flights between Moscow and Tashkent.

During the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation on a Unified Information Space for International Passenger Transport was signed, and documents and plans for research and development for 2025 aimed at the scientific and technical development of the railway industry were approved.
