RZD intends to extend the MCD into the Moscow Region to reach Serpukhov, Klin and Dmitrov

The largest infrastructure project of Moscow transport system in recent years is waiting for further extension. At least in several parts

The possible extension of diameters further into the Moscow Region is discussed in a presentation prepared by the Institute for Economics and Transport Development, which develops projects for RZD. It shows how the MCD could evolve through 2030 and 2040.

By 2030, according to the scheme, the MCD-1 can reach from Odintsovo to Perkhushkovo, and the MCD-2 from Nakhabino to Dedovsk and from Podolsk to Lvovskaya. The remaining diameters, which haven’t been in operation yet (it is expected that MCD-3 and MCD-4 will be launched this year), are also to be extended: MCD-3 from Kryukovo to Alabushevo, MCD-4 from Zheleznodorozhnaya to Elektrougli, and MCD-5 from Shchelkovo to Monino.
