Purpose of the project

A strategic project aimed at the development of the North-Eastern territories of our country, as well as the formation of a single economic and defense-strategic space and strengthening the protection of the geopolitical interests of the Russian Federation. The implementation of the project for the construction of a new railway line Nizhny Bestyakh (Yakutsk) – Magadan is provided for by the National Program of Socio-economic Development of the Far East for the period up to 2024 and the prospect up to 2035. Preliminary justification of investments in the construction of the Nizhny Bestyakh (Yakutsk) – Magadan railway line was done by JSC "ITED" in 2021 by order of JSC "Russian Railways". The length of the recommended route option of a promising railway line passing through Oymyakon is about 2000 km. The new railway line will connect the territories of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Magadan Region and will create a powerful boost to the realization of the industrial potential of the northern regions of the Far Eastern Federal District.
