The North Siberian Railway will be completed by 2035, as announced by Irina Magnushevskaya, Director General of the Institute for Transport Economics and Development, during the "Logistical Connectivity of Russia" session at the Eastern Economic Forum.
The IEDT leader noted that the North Siberian Railway project is currently in an active discussion phase at all levels.
In the near future, the construction of the Kyzyl – Kuragino section will be reviewed in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport and the Republic of Tuva.
"Given the complexities and the need for further studies, this project could potentially be completed by 2035", emphasized Irina Magnushevskaya.
She further added, "The Republic of Tuva has approached us, and we will be working with the Ministry of Transport on the Kyzyl – Kuragino section," during the session at the Eastern Economic Forum. Due to the project's complexities and required surveys, the implementation is targeted for completion by 2035. She clarified to Kommersant that various routes are being considered.
