IEDT took part in a meeting at the Ministry of Transport

The Ministry of Transport of Russia held a meeting on the issue of the cargo base of the new construction project for the railway border bridge crossing over the Amur River in the area of the settlements Jalinda (Russia) - Mohe (China). The participants agreed that it is necessary to restore the Skovorodino-Reinovo railway in order to speed up the construction of the Dzhalinda-Mohe bridge.

According to the press service of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Dzhulustan Borisov, First Deputy Chairman of Yakutia Government, noted that through the implementation of the Jalinda-Mohe international railway bridge project, it is expected to increase the volume of exports of coal products from South Yakutia, as well as reduce the distance and cost of transportation. Currently, the demand for transportation exceeds the capacity of infrastructure.

“It is planned to further increase the export of industrial products through the Jalinda-Mohe checkpoint: this and next year to 2.4 million tons with an increase in 2033 to 18 million tons,” said Julustan Borisov.
According to him, the implementation of the project will reduce the transportation distance by 2 thousand kilometers, which will also reduce the delivery time accordingly. The total length of the new route for the supply of coal to the southern part of China will be 2,867 kilometers by rail. The traditional route through the Far Eastern ports is 4,851 kilometers.

Dzhulustan Borisov made a proposal to begin implementing the first stage of the project, which requires initiating the transfer of the mothballed Skovorodino - Reinovo railway line to the lease and subsequently to the authorized capital of AK Railways of Yakutia JSC. In addition, he stated that it is necessary to speed up the work on resuming the activities of the Jalinda mixed border checkpoint, to issue technical specifications for the construction of facilities intended to accommodate state supervisory authorities.

AK ZhDYA JSC expressed its readiness to begin restoring the Skovorodino-Reinovo line, which is currently closed for operation. During the event, representatives of the government of the Amur region, IEDT JSC, Evraz Group, UK KOLMAR LLC also made presentations.
